The client approached Six Line Design with a unique problem – their outdoor fire pit had a glass covering that was less than ideal for placing glassware on when not in use. They also wanted an ottoman cover for their living room area. We started with the basic idea of a wooden tray that would perfectly line up on the glass fire pit, with rubber support feet to prevent scratching. After talking about the clients’ hobbies and interests, we agreed to incorporate an ocean theme on top of cherry wood. Using a mix of pigments mixed with epoxy resin, an ocean wave design was poured and buffed to a shine.

The final tray is 32” square.
